About Dr. Gbenga Adegbola

Dr. Gbenga Adegbola was born on September 29, 1969, in Saki, Oyo State, Nigeria, into the family of the late Chief and Mrs. Timothy Adegbola. He is a distinguished military officer and seasoned professional with a strong background in finance, administration, and strategic security management.

He was commissioned into the Nigerian Army through the Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC 12) on November 21, 2001, following his training at the Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna. Upon commissioning, he was deployed to the Nigerian Army Finance Corps, where he began a remarkable career marked by dedication, discipline, and steady advancement, ultimately attaining the rank of Colonel.

Throughout his military career, Dr. Adegbola undertook numerous professional and military courses to enhance his expertise. These include the Young Officers’ Course (Finance), Cashiers’ Course, and Accounts Inspectors’ Course, among others, each contributing to his depth of knowledge in financial management and military administration.

Dr. Gbenga Adegbola has a strong academic background, reflecting his commitment to continuous learning and professional development. He holds a National Diploma in Office Technology from The Polytechnic, Ibadan, as well as a Higher National Diploma in Accounting and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso. He also obtained Postgraduate Diplomas in Management and Accounting from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi, and the Nigeria College of Accountancy, Jos, respectively.

He further earned a Master of Arts in Security and Strategic Administration from the Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna, and a PhD in Security and Management from Freedom University, USA, alongside honorary doctorates in Public and Business Administration.

Overall, Dr. Adegbola’s career reflects a blend of military service, financial expertise, and strategic leadership, underpinned by integrity and a strong commitment to national development.
